Mr. Lane touched upon the benefits of membership and this year’s scheduled programs that feature outstanding speakers who are leaders, regulatory forces, opinion makers and technical resources in our industry.

After installing the 2017-2018 officers, guest speaker, Mr. Fyntrilakis highlighted several big initiatives currently underway at MAIA – the launch of MAIA’s consumer Digital Advertising Campaign to a brand new, member friendly website in October.

MAIA’s new consumer advertising campaign raises awareness for the independent broker through a personalized microsite, the Independent Agent Finder, creating awareness for consumers of local independent agents in their area and helping to generate leads for agents.

National and state level issues were addressed along with the upcoming changes anticipated from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.  The Registry has been meeting with insurance companies and third party vendors to discuss the process for which they will be updating a new system, Atlas, replacing the ALARS matrix system currently in use, and launching Real ID’s – real ID’s will be necessary to travel in 2020 and enter any federal building.  MAIA’s Advocacy Team: Kathy Cormier, Member Relations Advocate and Irene Morrill, VP of Technical Affairs, are only a phone call or email away from any of your questions or concerns!
